Indian Army wins Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Tournament
Chandigarh, April 23: Indian Army hockey team on Saturday won the third edition of the Air Force’s Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament here after beating Indian Air Force by 7-6 in a thrilling tie-break. The scores were tied at 2-2 in the regulation and the match was headed into a tie-breaker. Recruit Havildar Arsu was declared man of the match. A total of 12 teams, including Bangladesh Air Force hockey team, participated in the tournament, which was organized by the Air Force Sports Control Board (AFSCB) since 2018. Hockey legends Devesh Chauhan, coach (Olympian and Arjuna Awardee) Olympic 2000 and 2004, Pritam Thakran, Dronacharya Awardee and women’s hockey team coach were also felicitated on the occasion.
