HC vacates stay on recruitment of Jr Office Assist by SSC Hamirpur

Shimla, Dec 31: Himachal Pradesh High Court on Friday vacated the stay on the recruitment of Junior Office Assistant by the Staff Selection Commission, Hamirpur, the court had earlier reserved the verdict in the matter.
The order is likely to give respite to as many as 18,000 to 19,000 students who have appeared in the JOA written tests and qualified it, now the candidates would have to appear for the typing tests.
The candidates who also appeared in similar test before the 2020 recruitment challenged the appointment in the Himachal Pradesh High Court and the matter was pending a stay put on it by the High Court.
The SSC was appointing JOA for post code 817, 447 and 556 of Staff Selection Commission. The court found the process of recruitment justified and the HC ordered today to streamline the recruitment process ahead.
About thousands of candidates appeared under the above postcodes on March 21, 2020 and the typing tests scheduled to be held in the month of July were stayed as some of the candidates who appeared for 500 posts of JAC in 2016 were challenged in this process of appointment.
The SSC had recently declared the results of earlier JOA examination and conducted the recruitment, the sources in SSC confirmed.
