Punjab Guv Purohit condemns blast in Ludhiana Court Complex
CJI Ramana also expresses shock over Ludhiana Court complex blast
Chandigarh, Dec 23: Expressing deep anguish over the loss of life of two civilians in the blast that rocked the Ludhiana Court Complex early this afternoon, Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh Banwarilal Purohit said, “It is a very disturbing and unfortunate incident. I express my condolence to the families of the deceased and pray for the speedy recovery of all the injured.
“I condemn this terrible act of violence which has killed two civilians in the heart of the city,” said Purohit and called upon the people to maintain calm.
“Such anti-social act should not disrupt peace, harmony and brotherhood in the state; let us stand by each other till the guilty are brought to task,” he said.
Chief Justice of India N V Ramana also expressed deep shock over Ludhiana District Court Complex explosion.
Expressing grave concern at the lack of adequate security in court complexes, he hoped that the law enforcing agencies will pay necessary attention to ensure protection for the court complexes and all the stake holders.
Such incidents occurring in quick succession across the country is a worrisome trend, he observed. Justice Ramana called up Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Ravi Shankar Jha and enquired about the development.
CJI Ramana offered condolences to the bereaved family members and wished a speedy recovery of those injured in the blast.
