Azim Premji expresses desire to invest in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Nov 25 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday held a positive discussion on many developmental issues of the state through video-conferencing with Wipro Founder Azim Premji.

During the talks, Azim Premji told the Chief Minister that Jharkhand would become an important state for Azim Premji Foundation and Wipro among the states of East India. Azim Premji told the Chief Minister that Jharkhand is moving towards all-round development day by day under his leadership.

He appreciated the policies of the state government and expressed his desire to invest in Jharkhand.
Azim Premji said that Azim Premji Foundation and Wipro want to work in coordination with the state government in the field of quality higher education and health. Azim Premji Foundation is fully prepared for the establishment of Azim Premji University in Jharkhand, establishment of State of the Art Medical College and Hospital for health and IT Park for job employment and to take many action plans for livelihood on the land of Jharkhand.
In the course of the talks, Chief Minister Hemant Soren thanked the Azim Premji Foundation for the cooperation extended to Jharkhand during the global corona pandemic. The Chief Minister said that the cooperation given by his organisation to the people of Jharkhand is commendable.
The Chief Minister said that if Azim Premji Foundation and Wipro would work together with the state government, surely they would be able to make Jharkhand self-reliant in many fields. The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is a state full of possibilities. The people here are straight and simple.
He said that after the formation of the state, the economic, social and educational sector has not developed as much as it should have been. The state government is working with commitment for positive change in all these areas. The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is also known for sports and sportspersons. He said that children have proved the iron of talent in world cricket and hockey. The Chief Minister said that the state is also known for natural beauty just need to recognize the potential here and work on it. Chief Minister Hemant Soren personally invited Azim Premji to visit Jharkhand. The Chief Minister said that if he would come to Jharkhand he would personally introduce him to the possibilities of this state.
The state government and Azim Premji Foundation together will play an important role in giving a new direction to the state. Azim Premji accepted the invitation of the Chief Minister and talked about coming to Jharkhand soon. He told the Chief Minister that Azim Premji Foundation and Wipro are always ready for all round development of the people of Jharkhand. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Rajiv Arun Ekka, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, CEO Azim Premji Foundation Anurag Behar, State Head of FIA Foundation Johnson Topno among others were present.
