80-Year-Old Woman Injured in Panchkula Purse Snatching Incident

Victim loses ₹12,000 and mobile phone; Police register case under Section 304 of BNS

PANCHKULA – A purse snatching incident targeting an 80-year-old woman was reported in Panchkula on Saturday evening. The victim, Kanta Rani, was walking near the Sector 14/15 dividing road when two men on a black Honda Activa, without a registration number, approached her and suddenly snatched her purse.

Victim’s Injuries:
The forceful snatching caused Rani to fall onto the road, resulting in injuries. She was assisted by SI Rajesh Kumar, who immediately took her to Civil Hospital in Sector 6 for medical treatment in a PCR vehicle.

Stolen Items:
According to Rani, her purse contained ₹12,000 in cash and a mobile phone. After the incident, she filed a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of a case under Section 304 of the BNS.

Police Investigation:
The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects based on the description provided by the victim. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the area.

The incident highlights growing concerns over safety in Panchkula, especially for elderly citizens, and has prompted increased police patrols in the area.
