5 J&K volunteers among 11 get Nelson Mandela Nobel Peace Award today

Jammu: Five personalities from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir among 11 will get Nelson Mandela Nobel Peace Award at a gala event scheduled to be held at Hari Niwas on Saturday evening.
Nelson Mandela Nobel Peace Award is conferred helps to recognize those who have given their life to social, medical, business, science, education and various fields.
The awardees included Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Kunwarani Ritu Singh, SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat, Dr Sandhya Gupta, Founder Chairman of Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation, Hon Capt. Bana Singh, Param Vir Chakra (all from J&K), Gen. V K Singh (Retd.), Union MoS, Dr Akhoury Onkar Nath, Deputy Mayor of Gaya Govt. of Bihar, Dr Gulshan Grover, Actor, Dr Ramdas Athawale, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Giridhar Lal Batra, Kamal Kanta Batra (parents of Capt. Vikram Batra) and Bhagyashree, Actress.
