Theft at Ambha Marble ₹80,000 Stolen Under the Pretense of Requesting a Plastic Bag
Tohana: In a clever theft incident on the Jakhla-Chandigarh main road, two young men successfully stole ₹80,000 from the cash register of Ambha Marble by distracting the shopkeeper with a request for a plastic bag. The incident was captured on the shop’s CCTV camera, and local police have begun their investigation.
Details of the Incident:
According to the shopkeeper, Ashok Kumar, the two men arrived at his store under the pretext of purchasing a floor cleaner. They handed him ₹500 and asked for a plastic bag to carry their purchase. As Ashok prepared to give them their change, one of the thieves engaged him in conversation, while the other cleverly accessed the cash register and made off with ₹80,000. This well-planned distraction highlights the lengths to which thieves will go to execute their plans.
Police Investigation:
Upon receiving the complaint, the local police quickly arrived at the scene to investigate. They have called in fingerprint experts to assist in identifying the culprits. The CCTV footage clearly shows both men arriving on a motorcycle without a license plate, providing a potential lead in the investigation. Ashok has urged the Jakhla police to apprehend the two unidentified thieves promptly and ensure justice is served.
