Haryana: Today marks the first session of the Haryana Assembly following the formation of the new government. This one-day session is pivotal as it will witness the swearing-in of newly elected MLAs and the election of key legislative positions, including the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
Oath-Taking Ceremony:
The session will commence with the Governor, Bandaru Dattatreya, administering the oath of office to the senior-most MLA, Raghuveer Kadiyan, who will serve as the Pro Tem Speaker. Following this, Kadiyan will conduct the oath-taking ceremony for other newly elected MLAs. A total of 40 MLAs will take their oaths today, including 23 from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and 13 from the Indian National Congress. This significant ceremony marks the official beginning of their legislative journey and the formation of the new assembly.
Future Sessions:
There are indications that the government may call another assembly session in November, although no specific dates have been finalized yet.
