Chandigarh District Magistrate issues orders due to VIP security for upcoming oath-taking ceremony

Chandigarh: Chandigarh has been declared a no-fly zone from October 18 to October 20. This decision was made by District Magistrate Vinay Pratap Singh, citing VIP security concerns surrounding an important event.

No-Fly Zone Announcement:
The district magistrate’s order comes in light of the oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed Naib Saini, which will be attended by high-profile dignitaries, including the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister, and several Chief Ministers from various states. To ensure the safety and security of these officials, the area has been designated as a no-fly zone for three days.

Consequences for Violations:
During this no-fly period, operating drones or unmanned aerial vehicles in the restricted area will be treated as a serious violation. Legal actions will be taken under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code, 2023, and other relevant legal provisions. Authorities have made it clear that any breach of this order will not be tolerated, ensuring a high level of security during the event.

Exemptions from the Order:
It is important to note that this no-fly zone order does not apply to law enforcement agencies, including the police, paramilitary forces, the Air Force, and the Special Protection Group (SPG). These agencies will continue to operate as required for the security of the event and the dignitaries attending.
