Tragic Loss in Khanna Village as Young Father Succumbs to Drug Overdose
Punjab: In a heartbreaking incident, a 25-year-old man from the village of Salana Jeevan Singh Wala near Khanna lost his life due to a drug overdose. The deceased, identified as Rahul, was found with a syringe near his body. Rahul, who was married and had a four-year-old daughter, leaves behind a grieving family.
Family Devastated:
Rahul’s wife, Muskaan, was inconsolable at Khanna Civil Hospital as she revealed the tragic details. She said she had tried multiple times to help her husband overcome his addiction, but to no avail. Rahul’s death leaves behind his young daughter and wife, who are now struggling with the loss. Some of the family members are residing abroad, adding to the family’s emotional burden.
Wife’s Desperate Search:
Muskaan recounted that Rahul had left home saying he needed to clean his bike. When he didn’t return, she tried calling him repeatedly—104 times—but received no answer. Worried, she went to their house with her brother, only to find the door locked from the inside. After attempting to knock several times, they climbed over the wall to find Rahul unresponsive.
Drug Overdose Confirmed:
Rahul’s friend later confirmed that he had taken a drug injection and had likely overdosed. ASI Balkar Singh from Amloh Police Station confirmed they received information about Rahul’s death and have begun investigating the circumstances. The tragic death adds to the growing list of drug-related casualties in Punjab, further highlighting the devastating impact of substance abuse in the region.
