Jasprit Bumrah Expresses His Love for Test Cricket: “It’s My Favorite Format”
Jasprit Bumrah has reaffirmed his passion for Test cricket, calling it his favorite format. Notably, he is also India's joint-highest wicket-taker in Tests this year.
Jasprit Bumrah has once again expressed his love for Test cricket, stating it is his favorite format. As a regular in all formats, the Indian pacer has successfully overcome past injury concerns to participate fully in the game.
In Test matches, Bumrah has truly showcased his skills, currently ranking as the 4th highest wicket-taker with 33 wickets in just 7 matches, boasting an impressive average of 15.27. In the ongoing series against Bangladesh, he has already claimed 6 wickets.
Speaking to broadcasters ahead of Day 4 of the Kanpur Test, Bumrah emphasized his long-standing desire to play Tests and expressed his satisfaction with getting some overs under his belt.
Bumrah also expressed his anticipation of bowling more overs during the upcoming Australia tour, which kicks off in November.
For me, my favorite format is Test cricket. I’ve said it before that I wanted to play this format, and I’m finally doing that now. It’s great to get some overs under my belt and build up my stamina. The number of overs we bowl in Australia will be significantly higher,” he stated.
Regarding the ongoing Kanpur Test, which has seen Days 2 and 3 washed out due to rain, Bumrah acknowledged the need for quick adjustments and effective use of their experience. “Weather is something you can’t control. We need to adjust quickly and communicate with each other about the pitch, lines, and lengths,” he added.
