ED Raids Residences of Associates of Former RG Kar Hospital Principal in Financial Irregularities Case

On Thursday morning, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched search operations at the residences and offices of individuals associated with the former principal of RG Kar Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, who has been arrested in connection with alleged financial irregularities at the medical establishment.

The raids took place at the residence of Chandan Louhya in Kolkata’s Tala area and an office in Kalindi. Additionally, another ED team conducted a search at Ghosh’s ancestral home in Chinar Park, North 24 Parganas district.

An official informed PTI that Louhya and his wife are being questioned. It has been alleged that Louhya’s wife received favoritism from Ghosh in securing a tender. The ED is also investigating dubious transactions between RG Kar Hospital and an organization that used to supply equipment to the hospital.

The ED, in collaboration with the CBI, is conducting a parallel investigation into the financial irregularities at the state-run hospital. The CBI had previously arrested Ghosh along with three of his accomplices in connection with the case.
