One Day Workshop on Code Yogi Program held in SAS Nagar Distt. -A Pilot Project 

Classes under consideration to equip students with coding software in schools across the State

SAS Nagar: Marching ahead with the idea introduced by the Deputy Commissioner Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mrs Aashika Jain, a special workshop/orientation program was held by Dr Ginni Duggal, District Education Officer (SEI) Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar for the principals and school heads of all the schools of the district at Gyan Jyoti Public School Phase 2 Mohali, today.
      Deputy DEO Angrej Singh,  while welcoming everyone, gave basic information about the workshop. Rakesh Sehgal from Code Yogi gave detailed information about the Code Yogi program. He said that online coding courses have been designed for students under this program which will help students to develop skills and get jobs or do their work in the near future. He said that these career courses are completely free and students of classes 9th to 12th can participate in it. He also said that his company will also help in providing jobs to those students who complete these courses. These coding classes will be through telegram App.
      Apart from this, Dr Pritika Sharma gave information about the Dream Ahead Pro” program and said that proper guidance can be given for career selection or course selection through special psycho-metric testing for school students. Therefore, all the school Heads and Principals were encouraged to take full advantage of this program.
     Ms Shikha Sood from Shoolini University motivated the participants to encourage the students to apply for online quiz program for students Q?RIOSITY 2024. She said that students who have secured 90 per cent or above marks can participate in it to be eligible for scholarship and prizes.
 Secretary District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar,  CJM Mrs Surabhi Parashar and her team gave information about The POSH Act- Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) 2013 Internal Complaint Committees in schools, legal facilities for women. Principals and Heads were encouraged to form legal literacy clubs in all schools.
 Ms Mansi and Jagpreet Singh from the Punjab Skill Development Council explained how the students can be supported by giving them information various free courses and jobs .
 Ajay Kumar Sharma (Nodal officer) explained in detail about the “Atul Maheshwari Scholarship 2024” scheme being run by Amar Ujala Foundation for scholarship to meritorious students.
District Education Officer (Sec Edu ) Dr. Ginni Duggal while summarizing and concluding the workshop thanked all the guests and also thanked the Principal of Gyan Jyoti School who extended full support to conduct the workshop.
