UP CM Adityanath to meet Modi, BJP leaders amid party upheaval

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath may meet Modi and senior BJP leaders before or after the July 27 NITI Aayog governing council meeting.

The CM’s meeting comes amid UP BJP turmoil and a dispute between Yogi and his deputy, Keshav Prasad Maurya.

“In Delhi, Yogi’s top-level interactions are likely to focus on the UP BJP,” said a senior government official.

Yogi’s Delhi visit comes two days before the state legislature’s monsoon session on July 29.

Sources claimed the CM may address party criticism on the Lok Sabha poll catastrophe with senior brass. Talks may also involve byelections.

BJP leader Yogi has appointed 16 ministers to prepare for by-elections in 10 assembly constituencies later this year.

At a state BJP executive committee meeting on July 14, Maurya stated that the organization was bigger than the administration, sparking a party-government conflict.
