3 Cases under Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita booked in SAS Nagar Mohali on Day 1

SAS Nagar (Mohali): The first case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in district was lodged against a Motorcycle Theft Gang at Phase 1, Police Station in Mohali.
Divulging the details,  Sr. Superintendent of Police, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Dr Sandeep Garg said that a case under section 303 (2), 317(2), 317(5) BNS has been registered against the theft gang. A total of five Motorcycles have been recovered from the theft gang, he added.
A total of three FIRs have been lodged on day 1 of the implementation of BNS by Mohali Police, said Dr Garg.

In another development, SSP Garg told media that Distt. police had been conducting hot chase against criminals involved in snatching, looting and threatening  common citizens in the area; 4 such crimnals have been arrested recently. A police party under Harbeer Singh Atwal, PPS Captain Police (City) had raided some such persons and succeeded in confiscating illegal arms, ammunition used in looting taxi drivers near village Bathlana recently. More such criminal acts were reported by these persons, he told media.
