Aurangabad, Feb 18 (UNI) The Marathwada region of Maharashtra has recorded 158 fresh Covid-19 cases and single death in the past 24 hours, health authorities said on Friday. Reports collected by UNI from the all-district headquarters stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district was worst affected recorded 53 cases and single death followed by Latur had 28 cases, Beed had 20 cases, Hingoli had 19 cases, Osmanabad had 17 cases, Parbhani districts had 9 cases, Nanded district reported 8 cases and Jalna had 4 cases, they added. Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 2,797 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 78,53,291. The state also registered 40 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,43,538. Meanwhile, the highest 6,383 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 76,81,961 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.82 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.82 per cent. At present, there are 23,816 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
