114,64,267 MT wheat procured in 23 days from Punjab

Chandigarh, May 2 (UNI) Government agencies and private traders have procured 248,595 metric tonnes(MT) of wheat in Punjab on Sunday , ie the 23rd day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 248,595 MT procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 248,511 MT of wheat while 84 MT was procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 59498 metric tonnes, MARKFED 64353 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 60305 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation procured 33392 MT of wheat.
The Central government agency FCI has procured 25,669 MT of wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 5293 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 114,64,267 MT.
